SOBA

The Sony Old Boys Association is a collection of individuals who used to work at Sony Broadcast, or have been there for many years. We hold occasional events (well, we've had two actually) where we get together and talk about the old days………

The first reunion took place in 2008 and marked the 30th anniversary of the formation of Sony Broadcast in Holland in January 1978. The event was open to anybody who joined SBC 'before Jay's Close' and was held at the Slug and Lettuce, just around the corner from Waterloo Station, where trains arrive from Basingstoke.

Around 80 attendees had a fabulous time catching up on 25 years of gossip on a wonderfully warm afternoon on May 10th.

Martin Cook, one of the organisers, made a short speech welcoming the throng and made a toast to 'absent friends', people who were no longer with us or too ill to attend.

It is hoped that we will do these more regularly - but we've managed one other, back at the same venue earlier this year.

AND……. check out some memorabilia of Sony Projects Department. (Thanks to Vic Cherrett for finding and scanning this lot).
